Let’s start with CD’s. The lovely and talented Marly Hornik sent me her Say You Do disc, which is beautiful, reminding me of Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos, Aimee Mann, and Suzanne Vega. Marly is from my native state of New York and has never been to California. Maybe she’ll come out and play a few gigs. Get her disc at marlyhornik.com. On the local front, Katie Knipp is another chick with a guitar strapped to her wailing into a microphone, except she is really, really good. Quite a range on her pipes. She’s at http://listen.to/katieknipp.

White Rasta-gal Karney sent me her pro-pot single My Little Bush which is available through karney.org. If you’ve sent me a CD and I haven’t written about it, don’t think I don’t like it. I just haven’t gotten to it yet. So don’t get down about it. And if you need some help not getting down about it, you can always buy a book I got sent in the mail titled Great Failures of the Extremely Successful by Steve Young (no, not that Steve Young), which is full of inspirational essays by well-known people including Erin Brockovich, Al Franken, Billy Idol and well-known dead people like Johnny Unitas, Steve Allen, and Morton Downey, Jr. From Tallfellow Press (www.tallfellow.com).
